Lovette Apples grows at Shanxi province, situated at the heart of the Chinese Loess Plateau, characterized by its high elevation, abundant sunlight and significant day-night temperature variations, deep and loose soil, and rich content of various trace elements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and selenium, stands out as the only apple-producing area in the country that meets all seven meteorological criteria for the most suitable cultivation zone. Lovette apples grown here surpass regular varieties in terms of hardness, fruit shape index, anthocyanin content and fructose levels ensuring a superior quality product.
Lovette Apples journey begins with delicate blossoms, forming in clusters of five with a central blossom acting as the heart. Buzzing bees grace our orchard, diligently pollinating these blossoms, setting the stage for the enchanting growth of our apples.
As the apples take shape, our dedicated team embark on the careful process of thinning the fruit, preserving the exceptional quality of those sprouted from the central blossom, affectionately known as the “king fruit”. This meticulous thinning enhances the overall quality by channeling the tree’s energy into nurturing a select few outstanding fruits.
Approximately 13 weeks after the initial blossoming, our laboratory experts initiate a series of tests every four days, meticulously examining samples for sugar levels, crunchiness, and vibrant colour. Once the apples receive the laboratory seal of approval, the harvest commences.
Our skilled teams engage in handpicking, selecting the ripest fruits from outer reaches of the tree. Over the following weeks, the remaining apples are allowed to ripen naturally before joining the harvest. The harvested bounty is carefully placed in large wooden bins, swiftly transported to our cool stores, where a gentle chill is applied to maintain crispness, setting the stage for the next phase of our meticulous process.
When the time comes for packing, the apples are delicately retrieved from the cool store, treated to a soothing water bath, and meticulously washed and brushed to remove any remnants of leaves and imperfections on the skin. Effortlessly gliding onto sorting belts, each apple undergoes a thorough scan inside and out, with any imperfections leading to diversion for transformation into juice.
Sorting continues with precision, considering color and size, culminating in a final, loving hand check. Once each apple is packed and shielded, the cartons are ushered into our cool stores for storage and transportation, meticulously maintained at a temperature below 1°C.
To ensure a perfect journey over the sea, temperatures sensors accompany the apples in their containers, recording their conditions with meticulous care. This commitment to knowledge and precision guarantees that upon arrival, our apples are not just sweet and crunchy but are also presented in a pristine state, ready to be savoured straight from the box.
